Each member of our team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Shirley – Office Manager
Shirley has been with the practice for 35 years. In addition to her years of experience, she is familiar with all aspects of orthodontic treatment including financial and scheduling concerns. She works closely with all staff members to make sure we provide our patients with care “exceeding expectations”. Over the years she had had the opportunity to see the dramatic impact a beautiful smile can have on a patients’ self-confidence and self-esteem. Shirley is happily married and is the mother of two grown daughters. In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, spending time at the lake, traveling and walking the family dog, Keiko.
Angela – Communications & Treatment Coordinator
Angela has been with the practice for nine years. She has a degree in journalism with a major in public relations. She has years of customer relations experience and works well with people from all different backgrounds. Her primary goal is to make every visit as enjoyable and informative as possible. She strives to make every patient smile and laugh and goes above and beyond to ensure every patient’s experience is truly exceptional. When not working, she can be found at the hockey rink cheering on our Kamloops Blazers. She also, enjoys traveling, shopping and spending quality time with her dog, Lulu.
Laurie – Administrative Assistant
Laurie joined our practice in March 2008 as our Administrative Assistant. She assists with scheduling and insurance duties as well as transcribes Dr. Queen’s medical dictations. Laurie understands that most of us have busy schedules and she works hard to make appointment times as convenient as possible. Laurie says the best part of her job is seeing happy patients complete treatment with new, healthy, confident smiles. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Neil, and tries to keep up with her five active grandchildren.
Tanya – Certified Dental Assistant
Tanya has been a Certified Dental Assistant and part of the practice for 18 years. She’s enthusiastic and energetic. Tanya loves to see every patient leave with a smile and strives to make every patient’s experience an enjoyable one. Tanya has two children: Robyn and Christopher. She enjoys playing volleyball in her spare time and is an active member of many leagues in the community. She also volunteers with the local Boy Scout troop.
Christine – Certified Dental Assistant
Christine has been a Certified Dental Assistant for the past 28 years with her most recent experience in the orthodontic industry. She has worked for Dr. Queen for the past five years. Through her years of experience she has a clear understanding of the dental industry in all aspects. Christine has a friendly and welcoming personality. She can make anyone laugh and her relaxed demeanor is what makes her so approachable. Christine has been married for 24 years and has an adult son. She loves to sail, travel and do artwork.
Michelle – Certified Dental Assistant
Michelle initially joined our practice in 1988, and after taking some time off to raise her family, she now continues to work part-time. Michelle brings energy and enthusiasm to work and especially enjoys making new patients and their families feel at ease. She believes, “the connections made with patients and the opportunity to work with an incredible orthodontist and his team are what makes her job so rewarding”. Michelle is married with two children and enjoys skiing, kayaking, running and spending time with her family.
Jolene – Certified Dental Assistant
Jolene has been a Certified Dental Assistant for the past six years. She graduated from the Okanagan College in Kelowna in 2005. She has been with the practice for four years. Jolene takes pride in making the patient experience not only enjoyable but as informative as possible. She is married and is a new mother to a beautiful baby girl named Ryann. Jolene enjoys the outdoors, especially gardening, camping and spending time with her large extended family.
Karen – Accountant
Karen has over 35 years of accounting experience and joined our team in 2007 as the Office Accountant. She handles the business accounting aspects of the practice. Karen is married with two grown children and her family time is very important to her. She lives an active lifestyle, as an avid golfer and downhill skier. Karen’s other interests include quilting, gardening, camping, hiking and mountain biking.
